Prom is around the corner and now is the time for students to take care of any fines they have for damaged or lost library books.
We do not charge fines for overdue books. However, 66 days after a book has been checked out it automatically goes to “Lost” in the library circulation system and the cost of book is added to the students’ Synergy account. A fine with a description of lost media book or damaged media book is a fine from the library. When the lost book is returned the fee is removed.
If a book comes back with any water damage, stains, odors, crumpled or torn pages, or excessive writing or other damage, a fee for the cost of the book is added to the students’ Synergy account.
Students may take care of their damaged or lost media fees in one of three ways:
For lost books, simply return the book.
For lost or damaged books, pay for the book via SchoolPay or in the LSE main office.
For lost or damaged books, a student may make arrangements with Mrs. Hellwege, the school librarian, to work off the fee before or after school.
