Lincoln Southeast Business students qualified to attend the Nebraska Finance Challenge sponsored by the Nebraska Council on Economic Education. To qualify to attend regionals, students completed an online financial literacy exam and the five teams with the highest scores advanced to the next round. Three teams from Lincoln Southeast advanced to the Lincoln Regional Competition in which they were given a family scenario and had two hours to prepare a presentation with their financial recommendations for the fictitious family. The team of Khiana Blizek, Kyle Krueger, Calvin Kyker, and Grant Roscoe placed 1st in the Lincoln Regional Competition and placed 3rd in the state. Each team member earned $500 in a NEST 529 Account. The team of Kreyton Freauf, Maricel Reinhard, Meghan TenHulzen, Eric Vander Woude placed 3rd in Lincoln Regional and each earned $50. The team of Jack Elbracht, Caleb Goldsmith, and Austen Wurm qualified to attend the Lincoln Regional competition. Congratulations to all competitors for making the finals - way to go KNIGHTS!
