First Day of School Reminders

First Day of School Reminders

We’re looking forward to an excellent first week of school. Here are a few reminders as we start the school year.

First Day of School

Please check your schedule on StudentVUE under “Class Schedule” before the first day of school as it might have changed.  Students will not receive a printed copy of their schedule on the first day of school.  Students should write down or print out their schedule to bring to school.  You can access Synergy ParentVUE/StudentVUE on the front page of the LSE website at http://lse.lps.orgClick here for more information on schedules and schedule changes.

9th grade students must pick up their photo ID in the South Gym on the first day of school before going to their first class. 10-12th grade students will receive their ID in class on the first day of school. For students who have not attended Knight Readiness Days, had their photo ID taken or checked out a Chromebook, they need to plan to come to school early on the first day to complete these requirements. Click here for information about the Responsible Use Agreement, which must be signed by parent/guardian and student before a student can receive a Chromebook, and the optional payment for device coverage. (Upperclassmen are encouraged to complete these requirements at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14th in order to have this done before their first day of school and decrease their wait time.)

Bell Schedule

School will dismiss one hour early on August 14-15. Monday, August 14th is the first day of school for 9th graders and new Knights only. Tuesday, August 15th is the first day of school for 10-12th graders. We will be starting our regular bell schedule on Wednesday, August 16. For a copy of all of the bell schedules, click here.

Traffic & Drop Off

With the start of school this week, we want to remind all our parents, adults and student drivers to exercise extreme caution while driving to and from school – and driving in school zones. We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to get to school the first week of school. Finally, we ask that parents do not drop off or pick up students in the staff parking lot (south parking lot) before or after school because that parking lot will be used by Career Academy, Focus Programs and Special Education buses as the main pick up and drop off location for those students.

Friday Knight Festival

Join us for the LSE kick-off event for all LSE students and families! Friday Knight Festival will be Friday, August 18, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Visit your student's classrooms, meet teachers, purchase activity tickets and season passes, meet coaches and club sponsors, purchase LSE clothing, play games, eat dinner, and enjoy the kick-off Pep Rally.
