Sign up for Countdown2College through EducationQuest Foundation! Countdown2College is a monthly interactive newsletter that helps students begin thinking about life after high school and the options available to them.

Sophomore Timeline - important dates and what is coming up for sophomores

Options for after high school - click here for resources to search for 2 year & 4 year colleges/universities, vocational/technical programs, military information-including academies and ROTC, and information on electrical apprenticeships.

Lincoln Area College Fair - hosted at Southeast Community College on Sunday, September 24th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A college fair is a great opportunity to gather information from a large number of colleges at one event. Before attending the College Fair, register for a barcode at www.NebraskaCollegeFairs.org to streamline your college fair experience! More information about the Lincoln Area College Fair can be found at www.educationquest.org.

The Career Academy (TCA) is a partnership between Lincoln Public Schools and Southeast Community College. LPS students can explore their specific interest in any one of 16 different career pathways. TCA will be hosting a career fair concurrent with the Lincoln Area College Fair on Sunday, September 24th.  

Sophomore students are eligible to apply to attend TCA for part of their junior and senior years. The Career Academy will begin taking applications in January for next year and will continue until all pathways are full. For additional information on The Career Academy, please go to the TCA website: http://wp.lps.org/tca/

College Admissions Testing & Test Prep options - click here for a summary of the ACT and SAT as well as options for preparing for either exam.

PSAT/NMSQT: The PSAT (Pre-SAT) is offered to all 10th-11th grade students and will be administered on October 14, 2017. Sophomore students may take the PSAT but are not eligible for National Merit Scholarships until their junior year administration.  More information about the PSAT can be found at www.collegeboard.org. Additional information will be shared this fall with students about registration for the exam.
